A possible method of self-care which I totally neglected until yesterday was tidying. My room is always clean (like no rats running around) but it was really disorganised and stuff was everywhere. I always thought I’d have to tidy it up completely but could never find the motivation to actually do it.
I’m so happy that I stumbled across the motivation to get tidying and keep everything organised (I even have labelled folders for all my holiday paperwork, can never be too organised right?).
I’ve found that having a clear desk, floor, and room in general has actually made my mind feel so much clearer.
I started buying some new bits and pieces so I could store my stuff better, it took me ages to find inspiration for storage and then finding where to get those things, so I figured I’d attach some pictures and links in case anyone is in a similar situation.
This mirror jewellery cabinet is amazing for holding most of my jewellery and was from Ebay for £42.99. The mirror isn’t that big but I more wanted it for the storage. It’s also lockable which is handy when you live with little people that could open it up.
Like I said, it didn’t quite hold ALL of my jewellery. So I bought two of these boxes on ebay for £3.69 each and they hold 100 rings or 100 pairs of earrings. They’re super handy for holding all the ones that didn’t fit in the cabinet.
My positivity wall is my favourite thing in my room. It’s right as you walk in to my room so I see it a lot (good thing I like it). I found the pictures on google images and then printed them using the FreePrints App, you get 45 free prints a month you just pay postage which is like £3.99.
My other decorated wall has a calendar for the month so I can visualise what I’m doing as well as have a countdown to upcoming exams or holidays etc. I also have a scratch map which looks pretty pathetic right now considering I’ve only really been to Europe countries and the States. I don’t have a link for the scratch map but it was like £2 on ebay and there’s loads of sellers on there that have them for similar a price. Speaking of the states, I also have a pin board for all my Disney Pins. They used to just live on a lanyard in my suitcase and only coming out when I was in Disney, so I love that I’ve found a way to store/display them all year round. The board was only £1.99 on ebay. You could definitely use it as a cute way to display pictures with pushpins for example, if you’re not a Disney nerd like me.
Another shameless touch of Disney in my room is my Scentsy Mickey buddy I got for Christmas and have only just now actually put the scent inside of him. I don’t have a link for him but so many people sell scentsy so you will definitely be able to find a seller near you. Also, if you’re ever near a Bath and Bodyworks store you HAVE to get some “a thousand wishes” scents. The bodysprays are SO nice and last so long and they’re like $6 and usually have a multibuy offer on (hence why I currently have three).
